I feel ya. I went to Michigan State for undergrad. There were buildings being torn down and put up, roads being closed off and re-routed. Sometimes college can make you feel like that - a complete remodel, with a lot of rough times before the completed project.

I'm thinking of Emory for grad school, your impressions/advice?

That's pretty neat that New York Times included your picture and comment online. I graduated from Emory in 2007, I guess before the water tower was taken down. I remember driving into Emory my freshman year to move into Trimble Hall (which also has been removed I believe) and seeing the water tower. Too bad it's gone now. Your metaphor of the water tower coming down and the feeling of being humbled in your time at Emory is dead on. Thanks!

I am a junior at Brentwood high school and am interning at a youth fitness media company based in Los Angeles. We are launching a college fitness program this summer and are looking for about 3-5 bloggers. In return for blogging you would get a fitness package for free as well as the online coaching and training for free. You will also get some fun stuff that we get from sponsors. I am old enough to remember seeing him on TV in the Jackson 5. I still like those songs today. No matter what you think of him, you can't say he wasn't extremely talented.

I just watched this show and felt like I was totally missing the point or something. I also had the feeling that the show was being funded by the US government or something because the information was so basic and top level. There were no tips on how to become "unbroke." There information was so basic and generic that I have serious doubts it was helpful to anyone. In all seriousness who doesn't understand that credit cards are high interest and that we should have as little debt as possible? The show is probably well suited for Gen Y young people who are just starting out in life and somehow totally missed the "balancing your checkbook" week in Economics. Total waste of my time.

I trust vitale because the orginal one that comes in the white and blue bottles is the only one my hairdresser had used on me sense I was 12 years old and my hair would be past my bra strap by now but I keep cutting it.

I used the Vitale hair mayonnaise and Organic Root Stimulator hair mayonnaise both made my hair shiny.ORS mayonnaise made my hair shiner.I prefer ORS hair mayonnaise.

Have you ever tried the ors no-lye relaxer. it will be my first time using it and my hair is to the bone, tight curlded and my mom bought it but she doesnt know much and i dont know if i would be ok using it first on my whole hair. what do you think?

Yes, people in NY are actually nicer. There is a growing phenonmenon of rude southerners. I've experienced the same in North Carolina. That treat you worst than the Klan. I have to come back to DC or further North for good service these days. It's not all of them, but definitely a growing trend.

Wait. You live in Atlanta? We must either not be frequenting the same establishments, or I've got skin like a rhino.

I generally get good service here, even at FF places. I have to agree about the cleanliness thing, and of course Chik-Fil-A have the best service hands down, but I would disagree that service is generally bad.

Then again, I keep my orders real simple and don't put ketchup on my fries, so I guess I'm easy to please.

I loathe the way inefficiency and poor customer service seems to be so common at fast food joints. Last month I was at a Quizznos in the airport and I swear to you the dumb-fucks behind the counter were moving so slowly it was almost in reverse. This one guy had to leave his order (as in he didn't get his damn sandwich) and take off so he wont miss his flight. I waited 23 mins - I kid you not 23 mins - for a god damn sandwich. WTF?!?!?! That incident has completely turned me off of Quizznos. Nope. Not ever again.

...Oh and I almost went crazy at a Mickey D's this past Saturday morning. They were just being inefficient as hell with getting the orders to the ppl waiting... Grrrr!!

...Oh and do get me started on Chick-fil-a. There was one on campus during undergrad and the folks working there were GHETTO as fuck! I mean seriously... please try to separate your ghetto ass ways from your professional environment... please... for the sake of a Deity in the clouds.. please.

As you can tell, I also have issue with fast food joints.

Ok... I'm done!
